For Sixty Years The Mousetrap has been puzzling and pleasing, chilling and charming audiences worldwide. This summer Peninsula Productions is thrilled to be part of the macabre mayhem. Its production of The Mousetrap opens on July 11th and runs until July 28th at The Coast Capital Playhouse in White Rock. The play is a classic Agatha Christie who-done-it featuring a newlywed couple, a persnickety older woman, a flamboyant young man, an army major, a manly woman, an unexpected guest and a keen young sergeant. All of these characters find themselves snowed in at a country manor with a murderer on the loose.
This production of The Mousetrap is yet another offering from the popular lower mainland production company Peninsula Productions. Over the past year Peninsula Productions has grown from two determined partners Wendy Bollard and Geoff Giffin to an effective Board, an impressive volunteer base, a notable pool of talent and strong support from the community and local businesses. It has presented five extraordinary concerts, two children’s shows and it is now branching into producing theatre. This is all done under the leadership of its Artistic Director, Wendy Bollard, who directed last year’s highly successful play, Waiting for the Parade. “Wendy has an extensive background in the arts and is thrilled to be putting her experience to good use in her hometown,” says Peninsula Production’s President, Geoff Giffin. “We really feel that the Peninsula is ripe for high quality entertainment of all kinds and we intend to fill the gap.”
